The Role

Due to our expanding client base, we are looking to strengthen our team by recruiting an Agricultural Client Manager. This role would suit an experienced accountancy or tax professional who currently works out with Agri- business and is seeking a change.

Our Team has an excellent reputation for providing a variety of accounting services to clients, including bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns and management accounts. The successful candidate will take on the role of Client Manager for a varied portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies.

With offices in the Scottish Borders and Penrith, we can be flexible on where the successful candidate is based.

 

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • You’ll prepare annual accounts and tax returns
  • You’ll be involved in managing all aspects of your clients’ accountancy affairs to ensure an excellent service is provided
  • Ensure VAT Returns are completed and filed.
  • Carrying out Partial Exemption checks and identifying issues.
  • Dealing with Farmers Averaging calculations, Capital Allowances and Heritable and Capital Accounts.
  • Filing of statutory accounts and tax returns.
  • Building good relationships with clients and dealing with their day-to-day queries.
  • Corresponding with others on behalf of clients.
  • Managing workload to ensure client and statutory deadlines are met.
  • Carrying out one off assignments for clients
  • Chasing outstanding information.
  • Organising and attending client meetings.
  • Mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work.
  • Being commercially aware.

About You

  • You’ll have experience working in a similar role within an accountancy practice
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen willingness to learn and develop.
  • Being part or fully qualified in a professional accountancy qualification is preferred but not essential as support towards professional qualifications is also available to the right candidate.
  • Strong computer skills would be an advantage
  • You’ll enjoy a challenge and be happy to work as part of a team to tight deadlines
  • Professional and pro-active, you will enjoy providing the best service possible to clients with the ability to work under pressure
  • You are positive and confident in your abilities, but you’re also a kind, empathetic person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will take on the role of Client Manager for a varied portfolio of clients.

With offices in the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and Penrith, we can be flexible on where the successful candidate is based.

 

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Preparation of management accounts, annual accounts and corporation tax returns.
• Strong understanding of FRS Reporting, Capital Allowances and Director’s Loan Accounts.
• Filing of statutory accounts and CT600.
• Building good relationships with clients and dealing with their day-to-day queries.
• Corresponding with others on behalf of clients.
• Managing workload to ensure client and statutory deadlines are met.
• Undertaking one-off project work for clients.
• Chasing outstanding information.
• Organising and attending client meetings.
• Mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work.
• Being commercially aware.

The Role

EQ are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our fast-growing team on either a full or part-time basis.

Due to recent expansion, we are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team. Working within our Private Client Team in our Kelso Office, you will undertake administrative tasks directly from Directors and other senior management.

This role comes with the opportunity to progress to achieving a Paralegal qualification and undertaking more advanced tasks such as the preparation of Inheritance Tax forms, drafting of legal documents and researching current legislation and regulations.

 

Key responsibilities

Within this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Setting up Trusts and Estates files.
  • Preparation of client engagement letters.
  • Set up and maintenance of client files.
  • Carrying out and recording Trust registrations.
  • Preparation of letters to third parties such as banks and pension providers.
  • Corresponding directly with clients and third parties.
  • Building good relationships with clients and dealing with their day-to-day queries.
  • Chasing outstanding information and signed documents.
  • Logging of Wills and other important documents.
  • Preparing fees to clients and ensuring the correct time is written off.
  • Managing workload to ensure deadlines are met.

 

About you

  • You’ll have previous experience working in a similar role (desired but not essential).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills.
  • High level of discretion and empathy when dealing with clients who are grieving or preparing for life events.
  • Self-motivated and hard-working.
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
  • Ability to work well in high-pressure situations and to meet deadlines.
  • You’ll be a confident team player who is willing to be flexible and help others.

As a company we invest in the training of our staff and continued development within this role also offers the opportunity for you to progress within the firm and to gain further qualifications. No previous experience is required as the successful candidate will receive on the job training to develop their tax knowledge.

The Role

EQ are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our fast-growing team on either a full or part-time basis.

Due to recent expansion, we are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team based in our Kelso office.

 

Key Responsibilities

Within this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Filing documents
  • Managing incoming telephone calls and emails, providing accurate information and a great service
  • Welcoming visitors to the office
  • Overseeing team/firm calendars and scheduling meetings and booking rooms
  • Overseeing the preparation and clear down of meeting rooms
  • Maintaining employee data
  • Reception cover over the lunch period
  • Handling mail and managing office supplies
  • Assist with fire alarm test
  • Letter production, data entry, scanning documents and assisting with all other administrative tasks required by the Finance team

 

About you

  • You’ll have proven work experience in a similar role (desirable)
  • You understand how to organise and maintain a work planning system that keeps you on track to deliver the expected administration outcomes of several projects at once.
  • You are computer literate with knowledge and experience in the usual MS Office applications.
  • You’ll thrive in a busy environment and be able to cope with peak demands and changing priorities while working well within a team.
  • You’ll require a high level of discretion when dealing with confidential manners
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident, friendly, and quietly outgoing personality both over the phone and in-person.
